Please can anyone help
MBS software was put on a spare laptop in the summer that we lent to relatives a while back. We cancelled the subscription..we believe nephew may have accessed it..not sure. When we found out, i just ignored it and used my other laptop. However a very good few months down the line we tried to use the laptop again, but having a lot problems.
1) Slower than usual
but more importantly..
2) Computer shuts down after approximately 1/2 an hours use. It all just powers down without warning.
Now it may not be because of the MBS software...but we never had the problem before.
Used the bfu program to remove it today, but icons are still on desktop although logo is not there.
I am not a computer techno person, but can follow plain language instructions???any suggestions to find out if it the MBS software causing the problems.
On a positive note the internet explorer pop-up blocker thing had stopped prior to removing the software.

Feeling quite desperate as I need to use the laptop for exam prepration!! please if anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
thank you in advance..

Platte Media's lawyers have told us that we are not allowed to link to a publicly available piece of commercial software which is used to remove unwanted software, spyware, viruses, and the like, from a Windows PC. It seems as if that particular piece of software might be useful for removing Platte Media's software. Oh well, I am sure you'll find someone to help you fix the threats that others missed.  It may well also pick up on other issues which could be causing your problems.  Give it a try and let us know how you get on.  There may be other ways members can help you, so don't despair.

If this is caused by MBS, which we don't yet know, that's certainly a major escalation of "severity".

It wouldn't be impossible for a piece of software to initiate a total shut down of the PC. Would be interesting to hear from those testing the MBS software to see whether this is a possible outcome after several months ignoring the bill.

The Windows API certain offers the ability for software to shut down a machine...
