I'd like to welcome readers of The Guardian newspaper who may have clicked through to this forum from today's article
Porn bill firm opens new front in the Technology section.
The Guardian article explains the ongoing saga with Micro Bill Systems and their dubious software. My involvement began when I wrote a blog article —
Micro Bill Systems beware... — which to date has been viewed thousands of times and received nearly 400 comments.
Though I've never been personally affected by the software, I was very concerned by the tactics this Leeds-based company seemed to employ. Hence, with the help of Liz and others with a lot more PC-specific knowledge than myself (I'm a Mac geek) this forum was set up to provide a more organised place for people — "victims" — to share their stories, experiences, hints, and tips.
Feel free to take a look around. In order to keep things fairly orderly, you need to register if you want to comment here. If you're concerned about that, or want to know more about the forum and how it runs, take a look at the

Alternatively, you can read the
latest news about MBS, find out about
PC infection stories and

legitimately believe the software was installed on your PC without your consent.
Apologies that the last paragraph no longer makes any sense, but Platte Media's lawyers told us that we had to remove any reference or link to information that might help you remove the Platte Media "software" from your PC. Of course, they've only requested specific instances on this particular forum, so all is not lost...Feel free to contact me if you want any more information about the forum, either by signing up for an account and then leaving a message here or sending me a personal message, or, if you'd rather not register here, use my
