Hello all,

I am new to this site, and came across it when searching for other cases of people possibly being scammed by this company. I couldnt beleive how many reports there are of people having this spam box without ever going to the said websites.....

I am the only one that has access to this computer, no one else could or even would try to access it... This company claim that I went onto a website for a third party (which I later find is actually owned by the same people as MBS) and agreed to some membership fee of £39.95... I have never been on this website, how they can say I have is beyond me... There are sooo many accounts of genuine people who havnt ever gone onto their website, but nothing ever seems to get done about it !

I have been in contact with them, and was appauled with how I was treated, for example, I phoned SIX times and three of those conversations I was hung up on. The women I spoke with today was most unhelpfull and disrectful, her words were, "We have answerred ALL of your questions yesterday, we are not going to answer anymore." I was so shocked, they claim to be a helpfull legitimate company providing a good service in the replies to topics about them on Forum's like this.....

I have removed all traces of their Trojan, and should no longer get any contact what so ever from them, they after all, only have a IP address...

Can anyone give me some info/advice on what I can do now ? I havnt ever done what they claim my computer has, might it be possible some thing they created made my computer access their website on a pre-determined URL that signs me up to their 'service' Huh

I was previously not using any firewall and only a basic anti virus, I now have cleaned my whole computer using well recommended antivirus/spyware/adware/malware etc etc... so fingers crossed Smiley

The thing that worries me a little is their £25 charge after the payment date is past... it seems like they claim they are entilled to charge £25 per 7 day period that is past the payment deadline.... ?

Any info would be much appreciated,

Thanks in advance

Ryan

Hello Ryan,

You've come to the right site  Wink and it's good to see you here.

Can I ask you a question?  Have you downloaded your Internet Explorer History?  It could be interesting to see how MBS got access to your computer.  You can find details of how to do this by visiting Michael Pollitt's website here.  You will need to think back three days from when the MBS pop ups first appeared, then look at the 'history' for that date, which might help you to find out where it downloaded from.

You are not alone. Assuming you did not provide any personal details when you spoke to MBS, I do not think you need trouble yourself about them pursuing you for any money.  If you did not knowingly enter any of the websites they serve, you are the victim and owe them nothing.  And, to set your mind at rest, to date I have seen no evidence of them following up their threats.  Frankly, I do not think they would want their business practices to be scrutinised in Court as there are many questionmarks hanging over the way they conduct their business.

If there are any further details you can provide, I would be most interested to hear more about your experience and you are very welcome to contact me using the contact envelope under my icon.

Best wishes to you.

MBS Uses Internet Protocol addresses to determin your PC and you... so follow my first of advice and visit 'http://www.ip-adress.com/' and follow the 'Hide My IP' link at the bottom of the page.

sorry this is untrue.

majority of people use a dynamic IP address (changes wenever they disconnect/re-connect to the net)

this would make any sort of tracking via IP impossible.

further, IP address hold ABSOLOUTLY NO information about urself, the only people who know who has used that IP address and when is your  ISP (internet service provider), most ISP's will not give out personal info on who has used this IP address without a court order and that is usually only to people like the police and people who are protecting there property IE copyright holders/lawyers on behalf of copyright holders, most deffiantly NOT seedy little companies like this.
