The Guardian are again carrying a story relating to Platte.  It would appear that their actions may now be producing problems for a small business due to its advice not to charge VAT.

 Shocked

As we already know, they have not been paying VAT to HMRC.  Given what this person has told the Guardian reporter, it would appear that they owe our Government quite a lot of money.  I hope the Revenue are actively pursuing this on behalf of UK taxpayers.

Poor John, though I'm a little surprised at some level that he didn't just do what he had to do for his own business. I wouldn't be persuaded by any company on how to handle my own business. Then again, I'm no VAT expert. Platte screws up yet again.

I doubt HMRC will get anything from Platte's owners. I'm surprised Bateup and co. haven't surfaced with a new company.
