Hi all
So I have just received another communication from Platte - a letter from their "Legal Dept" detailing that the amount of 29.99 is still outstanding, and that failure to pay within 14 days may result in them submitting a claim to the county courts in accordance with "clause 17.4" of their T & C.

They also state the information which will be used to initiate proceedings through the HMCS Moneyclaim online application, the particulars of the claim, and the amount to be claimed - £29.99 plus £25.00 admin and court fees.
I can email a copy if reqd.
I have posted a few times, but have had no response from anyone as yet, and so would appreciate any help or advice which could be offered by anyone
Thanks
Katie

Katie, Have you not heard from me?  I have contacted you, so if nothing has come through it has probably gone into your spam  box.

You are not alone in getting such a letter, but you'll see from the experience of others on the Forum that, to date, these have been empty threats.  The general consensus is that Platte would not want their business model to come under the scrutiny of a Court.  Look very carefully at what they have sent you and you will realise that it is designed to intimidate you but bears no legal force.

Swampy (another forum member) was sent one of these letters a few months ago, and nothing further has happened.  You may very well feel that they are harrassing you, but in any event I would lodge a complaint with Trading Standards and the Office of Fair Trading.

If, when you check your spam folder, you still can't find the message from me (posted on 11th October, I think), then let me know and I'll resend to you.

Hi,

Sorry we haven't got back to you since you last wrote. As far as I can remember, getting a second letter from Platte is not unusual (if they have your address, of course), but we've also not heard of anyone actually being taken to court over non-payment.

SwampyUK's story is probably one of the longest running, you can read the start of it here and also more here - as you can see, threats from Platte but no action.

Perhaps others with direct experience of having contact from Platte can offer some more solid advice?

Update: I've just read ForumFriend's reply, hopefully you'll find the personal email.
