Tony:  You have not upset the moderators by your comments, which are entirely fair.  If you've looked around the site, you'll see that there's been a lot more, and in far stronger tones, that has been said.

We feel as frustrated as do you, which is why this site exists.  Incidentally, none of the moderators/founders have themselves been victims, but they have had a number of dealings with people who have, and we are struck by the degree of upset and annoyance that the methods being employed by MBS/Platte International/Platte Media continue to cause amongst their so-called customers, many of whom feel they are victims.

We also agree that it is extraordinary that the company is still allowed, legally, to trade.

Please do make your feelings known to the appropriate bodies, in particular the Office of Fair Trading.  You comments about the quality of goods that they are offering should, I think, also be passed on to them.  If you prefer, I can pass on your comments direct to the person at the OFT who deals with MBS/Platte.  You can email me privately with the exact comments that you would like me to pass on to them.

If our site has made you feel better, we are glad to have been of service to you, and to other, disgruntled victims of Platte International.

I am very willing to take Platte Media to court.

The fact : I did not sign up or download any film.  (I am very willing to donate my infected computer to prove it.)
The fact : Platte Media is making me suffer for no reason. ( I vomit repeatedly.)

Please can some professional tell me what I need to do to take Platte Media to court.

Are there other members out there who feel as strongly that they would like to take Platte Media to court?  It could be useful to know.

I am prepared to take this as far and high as possible if it helps to stop this business from obtaining money in this way.  I am compiling a dossier of information (which I will not divulge the details of at present) including how the software can be ontained without going through the process, legal questions on their business practices, etc.

I have been dealing with the OFT and have passed my concerns to them and I am also comminucating my findings with Michael Pollitt.  When I have sufficient information, I am considering consulting with a lawyer as the the validity of my claims and whether there is a case.

In the meantime, I have tried using the contact page of Platte Media in order to inform them that payment from my parents due from this infection will not be forthcoming but the contact page does not work.

I have informed the debt collection company (the same one mentioned elsewhere but I will not name them here) about the possibility that Plattes actions are possibly in contravention of the OFT ruling and they were quite interested by this development.

I will keep this post updated with any further progress.

I too have received a letter from a debt collection agency (the same that has been mentioned elsewhere) which I have returned to them togethe with a covering letter along much the same lines as you.  I have yet to receive a response.  I cannot believe they will take people to court over £28.99.  My Solicitor is also of the same opinion and advises me not to pay them a penny.

Thank you for updating us on these developments.  We would be grateful if you could keep the forum informed - Anything that you feel might need to be kept out of public view can be communicated to myself by private message.

If you're unsure of how to do this, either click on my name for further help, or - if you are in a view where you can see my icon - look for the email envelope underneath and click on that.
