Thankyou & Further advice please

Hopefully I have removed this scam from my computer after been infected since monday, no further icons appearing on desktop after performing several startups/shutdowns.
Thanks to all contributors for helping me remove this scam( you know who you are )

Some further advice needed regarding automatic updates. I have set updates to manual, should I leave it likes this? or reset to auto. I currently have a message in shutdown tab that updates are available, I am shutting down without installing updates, how do you find out what updates are? I dont want to re-install this scam.

i think these updates (by the way you are describing them) could be from microsoft for windows, if this is the case then they are fine to install.

as for auto or manual,well i am not a windows user, but from my experience in using windows, microsoft cause more problems than fix with there updates  , id personally set it to manual, then if there is a particular update you want, then you can just install that one.
