So, it looks like Platte Media is running on Rackspace.

I wonder what they make of that?

Offensive Content

7.1 You may not publish, display or transmit via our network and equipment any content that we
reasonably believe:
7.1.1 constitutes or encourages child pornography or is otherwise obscene, sexually explicit or morally
repugnant;
7.1.3 is unfair or deceptive under the consumer protection laws of any jurisdiction, including chain
letters and pyramid schemes;
7.1.10 facilitates any activity or conduct that is or may be defamatory, pornographic, obscene, indecent,
abusive, offensive or menacing;

well, where do we start?

Now it may be that there are separate web servers away from the main domain, but it's still traceable to Rackspace.

i got a feeling, that even though the webpage itself is hosted there, the server that actually servers the content will be elsewhere,

so it may be worth investigatign this. Ill find some netwrok mapping tools tonight so i can find out the exact IP that the software points too

Quick ping of downloads.plattemedia.com points to "Energis UK" which is now owned by Cable and Wireless.

Even if the actual content is hosted elsewhere, many "general-purpose" web hosts get twitchy if you even link to stuff that's against their T&Cs, for fear of them getting caught in legal issues down the line.

Of course, there are servers that happily host adult content, most likely not in the UK due to our obscenity laws which I think would extend to UK-based web hosting also.
